Mets acquire Freddy Peralta in blockbuster trade with Brewers as overhaul continues

The Mets’ busy Wednesday came with a late-night twist.

New York acquired right-handed starter Freddy Peralta from the Brewers and 27-year-old reliever Tobias Myers, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.

Outfield/infield prospect Jett Williams and pitcher Brandon Sproat are heading to Milwaukee.

The deal bolsters the Amazin’s pitching staff by adding Peralta, a two-time All-Star, who had a 2.70 ERA and 204 strikeouts in 176 ⅔ innings of work in 2025.

Last season was his best season to date, racking up a career-best 17 wins for the Brewers.

Myers, a right-hander, had a 3.55 ERA and 38 strikeouts over 50 ⅔ innings last season in Milwaukee and brings some experience as a starter as well to the Big Apple.

Ironically, the trade comes on the same day as Baseball America included Sproat and Williams on their list of top-100 prospects.

Earlier in the day, the Mets officially introduced infielder Bo Bichette and signed reliever Luis Garcia.
