The Mets’ youth movement continues.

The team designated veteran reliever Craig Kimbrel for assignment on Friday, calling up wunderkind starter Jonah Tong.

Tong will join a growing list of Mets prospects to join the major league roster in recent weeks, with outfielders A.J. Ewing and Nick Morabito getting their chance alongside Carson Benge, who broke with the Mets out of training camp.

As the Mets’ No. 2 prospect, Tong, 22, is 1-3 over nine starts with Triple-A Syracuse.

In five major league starts last year, Tong struggled, pitching to a 2-3 record with a 7.71 ERA and putting 33 runners on in just 18.2 innings.
