A Miami woman allegedly drugged several men she met at bars and robbed them of thousands of dollars and pricey luxury goods while they were passed out, according to reports and authorities.
Sarah Tavano, 39, faces 10 criminal charges in four separate cases stemming from the burglary scheme, according to Local10 News.
Tavano, originally from Massachusetts, allegedly swindled the men after gaining their trust “under the pretense of consensual activity,” police wrote in an arrest report obtained by the outlet.
Cops cuffed Tavano on Sunday at Sugar, a rooftop bar in downtown Miami, and discovered a baggie with white powder, a plastic cup with four pills, and a bottle of Jägermeister with a powder, the arrest report said.
She allegedly told police that the “liquid inside the green bottle contained MDMA,” a detective said.
Miami prosecutors filed four cases against Tavano on Monday, three of which include surveillance video, a fingerprint match, and a confession, the outlet reported, citing police incident reports.
The first incident occurred on Oct. 26, when a man reported to police that a woman he met at a bar the day earlier had possibly stolen his keys, police wrote.
“He does not remember inviting her into his apartment,” a police officer wrote in an arrest report obtained by the outlet.
The man told cops that after he woke up, he realized that over $50,000 worth of designer gold and diamond jewelry, suitcases, handbags, and wallets belonging to his fiancé vanished from his condo, the police report said.
A fingerprint on a brown watch case matched Tavano, who allegedly confessed that “the clothes she changed into were stolen … she stole the suitcases … filled with 20+ luxury bags,” documents said.
In a separate incident, cops met a man on Dec. 11 at the hotel who reported that over $34,000 had been stolen from him through unauthorized bank and crypto transactions after his cellphone and wallet disappeared following a meeting with a woman at a bar the night before, cops wrote.
“The victim reported experiencing a severe blackout, falling unconscious,” police officers said.
Just days later, on Dec. 13, another man at a hotel reported to police that a woman approached him the night before at a bar and he later let her into his hotel room.
“He consumed a drink … began to feel ill, experiencing sudden nausea, weakness, and dizziness, before losing consciousness,” a police officer wrote, noting he “reported blacking out.”
After he woke up, the woman had disappeared alongside his $38,000 Rolex watch and $1,500 in cash, police said.
The man eventually suspected the woman had drugged him, describing prolonged symptoms of nausea, extreme weakness, dizziness, and vomiting that persisted for approximately one week,” after the incident, an officer said.
After watching surveillance video, the detective “immediately recognized whom I suspected from two prior investigations,” court documents continued.
For the Oct. 26 case, Tavano was hit with burglary of an occupied dwelling and second-degree grand theft charges. For the Dec. 11 one, she faces charges of organized fraud and third-degree grand theft.
She was also hit with strong-armed robbery, organized fraud, and second-degree fraud for the alleged drugging and burglary on Dec. 13.
She was arrested on Sunday on charges of food or water poisoning, cocaine possession, and possession of a controlled substance, the outlet said.
Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Michelle Delancy is set to preside over all four cases, ordering her total bond at $55,000.
