Despite losing 2-1 in a World Cup friendly against Portugal on Thursday, it still might feel good to be Maduka Okoye.
Since the pregame presentation, Okoye has been going viral across the internet, in particular because soccer fans across the world are finding out how attractive he is.

When the broadcast camera panned over to the Nigerian National Team, fans who don’t regularly watch the team got a glimpse of Okoye.
Within 24 hours, after the X account Blackish Press made a post about Okoye going viral across the internet, fans let their thoughts be known.
Soccer fan Matthias Schmidt jokingly responded to the account and said: “Delete this please my wife is on this app.”

Blackish Press reposted its original post of Okoye, and it featured two more photos of him, but this time shirtless, showing off his muscles and his tattoos that run across his arms, to his chest, and back.
In November 2025, Okoye was recalled to the Nigeria squad ahead of a CAF 2026 World Cup Play-off tournament in Morocco, after he finished serving a two-month suspension for his part in an illegal betting scheme.

His suspension came after he faced a ban of up to four years for sporting fraud, when he purposefully received a yellow card for time wasting in the 64th minute of a Serie A match between his club Udinese and Lazio while they were leading 2-1.
In Thursday’s friendly, Okoye played the full 90 minutes and had four saves and a passing percentage of 83.
