The NYPD detective accidentally shot by at least one other cop while helping to take down a would-be carjacker in Queens last week received a round of applause as he left Jamaica Hospital on Monday morning.
Wounded officer Corey Fisher was surrounded by loved ones and fellow Finest, including NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, as he was wheeled out of the medical center sitting up on a stretcher.
“We are grateful Detective Fisher is going home to his family today, and for the outstanding care he received at Jamaica Hospital,” Tisch tweeted.
“Fisher was shot while trying to stop a violent carjacker in Queens – a career criminal who has terrorized victims for nearly a decade,” the commish added in another social-media post.
“The suspect may not have pulled the trigger himself, but make no mistake: Detective Fisher was shot because of the violence this man unleashed.
“That’s the danger our officers confront every tour,’’ Tisch said.
Fisher survived gunshot wounds to his left leg and right hand during the chaotic moment and had casts on both appendages when he left the hospital.
The 12-year veteran of the department was assigned to a Queens unit when he and other officers swarmed repeat criminal offender Kevin Dubuisson during a reported car robbery.
The 28-year-old suspect was hit with a slew of charges over the weekend tied to his alleged crime spree that ended with the gunfire.
Dubuisson’s accused string of attempted carjackings began when he allegedly tried to swipe a car parked at a gas station around 8:40 a.m. but was scared off by a worker there, authorities said.
He then allegedly tried to steal a car from a 32-year-old woman while putting a fist in his waistband, appearing to grab a gun.
He went on to ambush a 52-year-old Uber driver on the service road next to the Whitestone expressway, according to prosecutors.
The suspect allegedly flashed a crowbar at the driver, police said.
As he tried to escape with the stolen Toyota Highlander, Dubuisson allegedly smashed into another vehicle that knocked a woman and her mother, 87, to the ground as the elderly victim was being helped out of the car.
Police caught up to Dubuisson and surrounded him shortly before 9 a.m.
Three officers opened fire on the suspect, who was not armed, with two bullets striking Fisher.
Officials have said Fisher, who has worked for the Queens North Warrants Squad, is expected to make a full recovery.
Dubuisson is facing charges of robbery, assault, grand larceny and other crimes, the Queens District Attorney’s Office said.
