An NYPD sex crimes sergeant was arrested for allegedly groping a domestic violence victim in Brooklyn after boasting “I am the police supervisor,” prosecutors and law enforcement sources said.
Sgt. Talha Ahmad, 28, allegedly squeezed the buttocks of a woman who called 911 seeking help on Dec. 30, according to a criminal complaint.
Ahmad told the woman, “I am the police supervisor” who was there to further investigate the allegations of her 911 call, the court doc said.
He then grabbed her behind without her consent, prosecutors charge.
Ahmad’s alleged actions left the woman – who sources said initially called the cops over a domestic violence incident – “alarmed and annoyed,” according to prosecutors.
Ahmad was wearing an NYPD uniform during his interaction with the victim, and other uniformed cops were with him at the time, according to the complaint.
He was arrested Friday on charges of forcible touching, sexual misconduct, sexual abuse and harassment – and released on his own recognizance during his same-day arraignment on the non-bail-eligible charges, prosecutors said.
He is now suspended without pay from the NYPD, according to a department spokesperson.
Online records show that Ahmad joined the department in July 2019, and was reassigned to the Manhattan Court section early this month.
