The NYPD said Sunday it will dispatch cops to a trendy multimillion-dollar Meatpacking District park — one day after The Post revealed that a mob of sick vagrant perverts is terrorizing locals, including families and girls as young as 5.
The unhinged Manhattan denizens have had sex in broad daylight in full view of park-goers, torched a park bench and taunted young girls on a soccer field with a penis mask and vulgar gestures, the exclusive report found.
The report brought a prompt response from New York’s Finest on Sunday.
“The NYPD has an increased presence at the location with both Quality-of-Life teams and patrol units responding,” the department said in a statement. “Community Affairs officers have been directed to connect with individuals at the location and offer services if appropriate.”
Park-users said they’ve made 311 calls to complain. An NYPD rep said Sunday that “there are no reports or calls on file with the information provided” by The Post earlier.
The city opened the $73 million, 5.5-care Gansevoort Peninsula park in 2023, a popular spot that includes sports fields, benches and a Hudson River boardwalk in a neighborhood full of A-list New Yorkers such as Hailey Bieber, Ben Stiller and Jennifer Lawrence.
But locals said the vast recreational gem has also attracted a horde of unsavory vagrants who threaten and taunt park-goers of every age, using the upscale park to drink, sleep, bathe and even have sex.
“There’s a lot of things the kids see that they shouldn’t be seeing,” a Parks Department worker said.
In one recent morning visit, The Post witnessed the penis-masked creep taunting girls with the revolting get-up before stripping down while spewing out a vulgar and obscene rant.
“Everyone wants to party, but on one wants to pay for party!” the deranged bum yelled.
The nut’s mask included a contraption on his head that resembled a middle finger, with the words, “sex,” “f–k you” and “Mr. Anger” written on it. The man had a “thug life” tattoo and a face covered in piercings.
About a week earlier, a vagrant couple from the unsightly mob had sex on a nearby bench about 4 p.m.
Residents said the creeps, who typically gather at a nearby Mobil gas station to get drunk before heading to the park, can swell to a dozen or more.
