Ohio State has opened as a heavy favorite over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff national championship game.
The line is set at 9.5 points on FanDuel, which mirrors other sports books, with the Buckeyes -410 favorites over the Fighting Irish.
Ohio State beat Texas, 28-14, Friday night at AT&T Stadium in Dallas in the Cotton Bowl to advance to the title game.
Jack Sawyer helped seal the win with a dramatic forced fumble, which he returned 83 yards for a touchdown with just over two minutes left in the game.

It continues an emphatic bounce-back for Ohio State after losing to arch rival Michigan on Nov. 30.
“About a month ago, a lot of people counted us out. And these guys went to work, this team, these leaders, the captains, the staff,” Ohio State coach Ryan Day said. “Everybody in the building believed. And because of that, I believe we won the game in the fourth quarter.”
Notre Dame beat Penn State, 27-24, Thursday night at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in the Orange Bowl to advance to the title game.
The Fighting Irish have not lost since they were stunned by Northern Illinois the second week of the season.
“We found a way to make a play when it mattered the most,” Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman said. “In my opinion, great teams, great programs, find a way to do that.”
