Even with Penn State blood running through his veins, Abdul Carter couldn’t help but respect the Ohio State linebacker who “popped off the screen” against his alma mater in a rivalry game.

Arvell Reese made such a strong impression with 12 tackles and a sack during that game last November that Carter rooted for him to be the Giants’ pick at No. 5 in the NFL draft even though the two Big Ten products didn’t have a personal relationship at the time.

The wish came true after the Jets passed on Reese, and Carter set Giants nation ablaze with fire emoji tweets in reaction to the pick.

“Just knowing what he can do, just watching him and the violence he plays with and how fast he plays, it’s going to be fun,” Carter told The Post on Friday morning. “We’re on the same side now. How physical he plays, that’s going to be real helpful for us.”
