Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers pushed a demonstrably false narrative about the fatal shooting of Renee Nicole Good during a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minneapolis.
Following the Milwaukee Bucks’ matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers, Rivers went on a sprawling, emotional rant, claiming that Renee Good was simply an innocent bystander “trying to go home.”
Rivers added that the Trump administration is “attacking Brown people.”
Rivers went on to lecture Americans about bullying, lying, and role models for children.
Doc Rivers: “What happened in Minnesota was a straight-up murder, in my opinion, and it’s awful. This lady was probably trying to go home, and she didn’t make it home, and that’s really sad.
The whole ICE thing—it’s a travesty. To me, we’re attacking Brown people, and I just happen to be Brown. And I don’t think it should just be Brown people who are upset about this. I think we all have to be. I don’t care what side of this thing you are on politically.
What’s going on in our country right now is absolutely wrong as far as the race stuff. The politics—I’m not going to get into. The race stuff, I will, and it’s just wrong, and we have to do something.
But the only thing we can do right now is keep speaking up, because it doesn’t seem like they care, and that’s troublesome.
Last thing I’m going to say, because I don’t want to stay on this—but I could. I keep thinking about kids. When I grew up, the president was always the role model. I think about that and the effect of being a bully, lying. How is that good for our kids? That worries me for our future. I’ll stop there.”
WATCH:
Rivers’ claim that Good was just a woman “trying to go home” is an outright lie. Evidence continues to mount that Good was not an innocent bystander, but a militant activist deeply embedded in the radical “ICE Watch” network.
Far from being a “mom who got lost,” reports indicate Good was trained specifically to disrupt, document, and resist federal law enforcement operations.
“ICE Watch” functions as a loose alliance of radicals who stalk agents, dox their personal vehicles, and interfere with the enforcement of our nation’s laws.
According to a report from The New York Post, Good’s radicalization took place through her son’s “woke” charter school, which prioritizes social justice and political activism over basic education.
While Doc Rivers uses his press conferences to spread misinformation and sow racial division, a 6-year-old child is left without a mother because radical activists decided that “resisting” federal agents was more important than the law.
