HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania — The Pennsylvania man accused of firebombing the governor’s mansion pulled sick faces as he was led into a Harrisburg courthouse for his arraignment Monday.
Cody Balmer, 38, stuck his tongue out and crossed his eyes as Pennsylvania State Troopers led him shackled at the hands and ankles into the courthouse.
Balmer had a ragged beard and looked gaunt as he struggled to hold his belt-less pants up, and sat breathing heavily in the defendant’s chair as he was taken inside to await the judge.
He faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated arson, and burglary for allegedly breaking into Gov. Josh Shapiro’s Harrisburg home in the early hours of Sunday and hurling several Molotov cocktails across his lavish piano room.
The mansion’s history room was left scorched in the attack, but Shapiro and his family – who were sleeping upstairs – made it out unharmed.
A judge ordered him held without bail after eight charges were read against him — including terrorism.
