A Pennsylvania homeowner allegedly shot and wounded an Instacart driver outside his house over the weekend after he confused the worker for an intruder as he tried to drop off an order, authorities said

Nicholas Sabo, 43, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly shooting the delivery driver in the legs after a home security camera detected movement near his family’s garage in Newton Township, according to South Abington Police Department, multiple outlets reported.

“(The husband) goes out, sees the individual and, no verbal confrontation no nothing, just shoots,” Chief Paul Wolfe told McClatchy News.

Police later learned that Sabo’s wife had placed an order for groceries using Instacart without her husband’s knowledge, WBRE/WYOU reported.

The victim set off an alert on Sabo’s home surveillance when he arrived to make the delivery — leading his wife to believe someone was trying to break into a utility trailer on their property, police said.

Sabo then went outside with a gun to confront the man and blasted him in both legs with one bullet.

The driver ran back to his car, where his wife and child were waiting for him, and drove a short distance before calling the police, the outlets reported.
