Golf influencer Paige Spiranac is keeping expectations low for her performance in Wednesday’s Creator Classic taking place at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Creator Classic is a 16-player tournament being put on by the PGA Tour involving some of the top names in the golf content space, with Spiranac being among them.
While Spiranac did play Division I college golf at the University of Arizona and San Diego State, she didn’t sound too confident about how she’d do during the nine-hole tournament.
“I might win most golf balls lost but that’s about it lol,” she responded on social media to one person who picked her or Mac Boucher to win the whole thing.
The social media personality poked fun at herself on several other occasions on social media, which included comparing her game in a not-so-flattering way to Peyton Manning’s.
And when another user told her not to finish in last she responded, “That’s the expected result lol.”
Spiranac has amassed a large following on social media with four million followers alone on her Instagram account and she is among the creators that have been part of the reason for the growing popularity of golf content on YouTube and other platforms.

In July, The Athletic reported that during a 90-day span this year people had viewed golf content on YouTube more than 4.3 billion times.
The PGA Tour has taken note of the popularity of the content, which led to the creation of the Creator Classic, which they hope will help drive new eyeballs to The Tour.
“We also hope that that might bring some of these different audiences to the PGA Tour to tune in on Thursday and Friday on ESPN or Golf Channel,” PGA Tour senior vice president of media Chris Wandell said about part of the objective of the Creators Classic.
“Or tune in on Sunday, when it’s coming down to the wire on NBC, and these are fans that probably don’t typically watch the PGA Tour.”
