Patrick Reed is coming back to the PGA Tour.

The former Masters champ announced Wednesday on X that he would not return to LIV Golf and would seek to return to the PGA as a past champion member.

“I’m a traditionalist at heart, and I was born to play on the PGA TOUR, which is where my story began with my wife, Justine,” Reed wrote.

“I am very fortunate for the opportunities that have come my way and grateful for the life we have created. I am moving forward in my career, and I look forward to competing on the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour. I can’t wait to get back out there and revisit some of the best places on earth.”

The PGA Tour confirmed in a statement that Reed would be eligible to start playing events on Aug. 25 of this year and could be fully reinstated for the 2027 season.

Reed now joins Brooks Koepka as the first two big-name golfers to make a PGA Tour return after leaving for LIV.

Like Koekpa, Reed will not be eligible for the Player Equity Program through 2030.

The PGA Tour estimated that could potentially cost Koepka between $50-85 million, on top of a $5 million charitable donation he made upon his return.

Reed raised eyebrows Sunday when he revealed he was not under contract to play for LIV Golf for the upcoming season.

Koekpa is playing in his first PGA Tour tournament starting Thursday when he tees it up in the Farmers Insurance Open.

Reed, who won the Dubai Desert Classic last week, said he will continue to play on the DP World Tour and by doing so he could improve his status for the 2027 PGA Tour season.

He finished seventh or higher in the LIV standings in three of his four years playing on the rebel tour as a member of Dustin Johnson’s 4 Aces team.

Kevin Na and Hudson Swafford have also applied for PGA Tour reinstatement, ESPN reported.

“To golf fans around the world, I just want to thank you all for your continued support over the years,” Reed, 35, said.

“I just ask that you respect the decision we have made for our family, our children, and our future. Thank you for your continued support.”
