The Manning family quarterback tree continues to spread.
Peyton Manning’s son has put in a claim to be the actual heir to his father’s throne, while garnering attention for his performance during a 7-on-7 football event in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

Prep Redzone Tennessee’s Shayne Pickering shot the video and said Manning “has shown good velocity and anticipation the entire day” and “has taken another step forward into his development.”
In the video, the younger Manning — wearing No. 16, as his Hall of Fame father did while at Tennessee before being the No. 1 overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft — flashed potential beyond his years.

Notably, Marshall Manning also made waves throwing to NFL receivers during the Pro Bowl Games last year, also while still in middle school.
Manning will be a high school freshman this fall at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The school won a state title in football during 2025, their second in the last four years and third ever.
The school’s alumni include John Hannah, a Hall of Fame guard for the Patriots from 1973-85, earning spots on the NFL’s All-Decade Team in both the 70s and the 80s, and was an All-Pro in 10 of his 13 NFL seasons.
