The Post’s Mark Cannizzaro makes his Masters picks which begins on Thursday at Augusta National:

Chris Gotterup

In the first Masters since Fuzzy Zoeller died at age 74 in November, Gotterup, a Jersey Shore native and former Rutgers player, is trying to become the first player since Fuzzy in 1979 to win a green jacket on his first try.

Chris Gotterup has a legitimate chance to win the Masters on his first try, The Post's Mark Cannizzaro writes.

Gotterup has four PGA Tour wins in his career, including two in 2026 — the Sony Open in Hawaii and the WM Phoenix Open.

Gotterup’s power off the tee, his improved iron play and his sharp chipping game make this a great fit.

Scottie Scheffler

In his bid to win a third Masters in the past five years, the world No. 1 falls just short, but is right there in contention to the end.

Patrick Reed

Sure, he’s off the radar, having played LIV Golf and now serving penance as he makes his way back to the PGA Tour.

But Reed is good around Augusta, having won in 2018, finishing third last year and tied for fourth in 2023.

Rory McIlroy

The defending champion will make a run, but fall short this time.

Cameron Young

The Players Championship validated and liberated the Westchester native, who figures to be a factor this week.

He’s been close in several majors already and this will be another one.
