Tom Brady has found his man for the Raiders – and it’s a familiar face.
Las Vegas reached an agreement to make Pete Carroll the franchise’s next head coach, according to multiple reports.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a three-year deal with a fourth-year team option for the 73-year-old.
Carroll thrived as the coach at USC and the Seahawks for over two decades — winning a national championship and a Super Bowl along the way.
The Seahawks surprisingly moved on from Carroll after last season.
It was nearly two championships in Seattle, however Seattle fell to Brady’ New England team in the thrilling Super Bowl XLIX showdown where Russell Wilson threw a goal line interception in the closing seconds.
Brady is a 5-percent minority owner in the Raiders, but reportedly had owner Mark Davis’ ear when it came to the decision.
The Raiders strongly pursued Ben Johnson and appeared the favorite to land the coveted Lions offensive coordinator before he chose the Bears’ head-coaching job on Monday.
Carroll had also interviewed for the Bears’ position and reportedly drawn interest from the 49ers as defensive coordinator — a job that went to former Jets coach Robert Saleh on Thursday.
The Raiders fired GM Tom Telesco and head coach Antonio Pierce after one full season that finished 4-13.
The Raiders hired John Spytek earlier this week to replace Telesco as GM.
Carroll is tasked with bringing stability to a franchise that has had three head coaches in three seasons after Pierce replaced Josh McDaniel in 2023.
The Raiders, who have one winning season since 2017, have star-level players in tight end Brock Bowers and pass rusher Maxx Crosby, but significant holes on the roster.
The first crucial roster decision will be deciding who will play quarterback next season after Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew split time last season.
The Raiders own the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, which likely takes them out of the running for the top QB prospects Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward.
Carroll coached the Jets for one season and the Patriots for three in the 90s before guiding USC back to national prominence.
