Reality TV stars share horrifying footage of road rage attack in Hollywood: ‘He trapped us’

Two reality TV personalities say they were left shaken after a road rage encounter in Hollywood — an incident they say unfolded in broad daylight and was captured on video.

The confrontation happened Sunday morning, March 29, at the busy intersection of Melrose Avenue and Vine Street.

The victims, husbands Pol Atteu and Patrick Simpson — known for hosting the Amazon Prime series “Gown and Out in Beverly Hills” — described the ordeal as one of the most frightening moments of their lives.

“I don’t know if he knew who we were, I don’t know,” he said. “I think it was very weird that this car comes right in front of us, parks diagonal, traps us, we can’t go anywhere and then just starts beating the car. I don’t get it.”

Video recorded during the incident shows a man driving a Toyota 4Runner abruptly stopping and blocking the couple’s Mercedes-Benz at a red light. The driver then gets out of his SUV and approaches their vehicle, appearing to lash out physically.

Rather than disengage, the couple said they followed the driver while calling 911 to report the incident.

“Terrifying road rage in the middle of L.A. at 9:20 in the morning,” Atteu told KTLA. “He hit the window so hard.”

Simpson said the situation escalated so quickly that he immediately feared for their safety, urging his husband to secure the car.

“I’m telling him, ‘Lock the car, lock the car,’ because we couldn’t move,” he said.

The couple said they had no prior interaction with the driver and were blindsided by the sudden aggression. They insist they did nothing to provoke the outburst.

“This is it, I’m going to die here,” he recalled thinking. “I’ve never been faced with that kind of fear in my life on the streets of L.A.,” one of them told KTLA recalling the incident.

What happened next only added to their alarm.

“He ran every stop sign, every red light and drove so erratically,” Atteu said. “There were kids in the car. I thought, ‘You’re on something.’”

The couple has since shared the video publicly, hoping it brings attention to what they describe as a growing problem of unpredictable and violent behavior on Los Angeles streets.

It remains unclear whether the suspect has been identified or taken into custody.
