The Boston Red Sox have signed second baseman Kristian Campbell to an eight-year contract extension that goes through the 2032 season, and includes club options for 2033 and 2034.

Per ESPN’s Jeff Passan, the deal is worth $60 million.

Campbell was drafted by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2023 MLB Draft, and made his debut on Opening Day last week. The infielder was ranked the No. 6 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline this year. He has six hits in 16 at-bats so far this season, including a home run and two RBI.

Campbell spent the 2024 season rising through Boston’s farm system, slashing .330/.439/.558 in 115 games across three levels. He also hit 20 home runs and stole 24 bases.

Earlier this week, the Red Sox signed pitcher Garrett Crochet to a six-year, $170 million extension, and are clearly focused on locking up some of their brightest young stars.

The Red Sox, however, haven’t gotten off to a very hot start, with just a 1-4 record, and sit in last place in the AL East.
