RINO Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon is once again setting his sights on higher office as he enters his final months in the House of Representatives, saying he’d “love to” run for President.
Bacon and Trump have repeatedly clashed, with the RINO congressman even saying he would vote to impeach Trump earlier this year– over Trump’s posture toward Greenland.
“I would lean that way,” he said of voting to impeach Trump, adding, “in this case, I think Republicans need to be firm.”
Bacon, who announced his retirement from Congress last July because he’s tired of working “4 days a week,” has previously floated running for President, Governor, or serving as a future Secretary of War.
During an appearance on the Republican Legacy Podcast this week, Bacon was asked again whether he’s considered a presidential run.
“Yes, I would love to,” Bacon responded, adding that he’d be “just as happy to be the right-hand man or left-hand man to someone else that has the same values.”
“But in the end, I want our values to dominate in our party, and I think our country needs people who are not using the FBI, the IRS to go after their adversaries, or the Attorney General. We want people to be respectful,” he continued.
“There’s a part of me that wants to step out and take that risk. I’m also happy to support someone who fills that role and I could be on their team, but I do definitely want to be on a team, whether I’m the lead or part of the team, fighting for these values for our country because I think the United States needs them, and I think they’re looking for them.”
He added, “I think we need to have a president wanting to address rational immigration policy. We got to calibrate our immigrations to some degree here. It’s just it’s obvious. But we need to have leadership that can honestly talk like this. And I don’t see enough of it, frankly.” Here, Bacon is likely talking about granting amnesty to millions of illegal aliens as he’s supported in the “Securing Agriculture’s Workforce Act of 2026.”
