Adam Schein may have dropped his first Adam Bomb.
The Post’s Adam Schein was not pleased with Hubert Davis — whose No. 6-seeded North Carolina men’s basketball team suffered a brutal 82-78 loss at the hands of No. 11 VCU on Thursday.
On Friday’s episode of “Schein Time,” Schein questioned the coach’s job security at North Carolina.
“I don’t wanna hear Hubert Davis keeps his job, OK?” Schein said. “This is an A-plus program with a C-minus head coach. And I loved Hubert Davis as a Knick! I loved him on ESPN! I loved him as an assistant for Roy Williams as an assistant for Roy Williams. But what are we doing here? The results are the results!”
It has been anything but smooth sailing for Davis, who has seen his Tar Heel squad lose in the first round of the past two March Madness tournaments. In his first year with North Carolina, Davis went 29-10, defying expectations that longtime Carolina coach Roy Williams left over his 18 seasons at the helm. The Tar Heels lost the 2021-22 national championship game to Kansas, 72-69.
Davis was the only coach in UNC history to win 20 or more games in each of his first four seasons.
In his viral postgame press conference on Friday, Hubert questioned a reporter for asking what went wrong in their loss to VCU, leaving Schein with a harsh critique.
“Hubert Davis had no answers, couldn’t speak, and couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag!” he said.

The criticism is met with reason, as the Tar Heels led 70-56 with 7:11 remaining and lost by four — an unexplainable effort for a program once considered a blue-blood lock this time of year.
Schein added to the narrative that North Carolina has lost its luster.
“You have a big-time program and a big-time NIL that could take advantage of the system in terms of paying for the players and building a roster and name brand and The Jordan brand and everything that goes into the mix,” he said. “How does North Carolina not have one of the elite coaches in basketball?
“And when I say basketball, I’m talking about college and the pros. Like, North Carolina basketball is better than most NBA jobs. You can’t have Hubert Davis coaching this team anymore. That is amateur hour!”
Davis is a familiar face in New York. He played for the New York Knicks for four seasons (1992-96) after being selected 20th overall from North Carolina in the 1992 NBA Draft.
He is still the head coach at North Carolina, though the questions around his tenure are only growing louder after Friday.
