Scorpion stings Brazilian student in Zara dressing room, sending her to hospital

A Brazilian woman was stung by a yellow scorpion while trying on outfits in a Zara clothing store’s dressing room, according to reports.

Alice Spies, 20, had to be rushed to the emergency room from the store’s Guara location.

Spies said she was trying on clothing when she felt an intense pain run up one of her legs, according to The Sun.

Spies saw the arthropod on her clothes, and screamed for help, she told the Sun.

She became dizzy, she said, and almost lost consciousness from the agonizing pain.

While painful, scorpion stings are rarely fatal, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Symptoms include swelling, muscle twitching, drooling, sweating, nausea, fast heart rate, and restlessness.

A spokesperson for Zara was unavailable to speak to The Post Saturday, but told The Sun it “deeply regrets what happened and confirms that it is in direct contact with the customer, providing all necessary assistance.

“We take this case very seriously and are working to ensure that all appropriate preventative measures are taken,” the statement said.
