Scottie Scheffler will have to start a new streak.
The world’s No. 1 golfer is set to miss the cut at the Genesis Scottish Open, ending a streak that has spanned four years and 78 straight events.
Scheffler is at even-par after two rounds at the Genesis Scottish Open, and the cut is expected to be 2-under, according to ESPN.

He last missed a cut in August 2022 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and his streak is 51 more than the next-highest mark of 27 by Matt Fitzpatrick.
However, Scheffler fell way short of the record of 125 straight events by Tiger Woods from February 1998 to May 2025, per the Associated Press.
“I got off to a tough start, and then on the back nine I didn’t feel like I was hitting it close enough to give myself enough opportunities,” Scheffler said Friday, per ESPN.
“I think that’s what it really comes down to. I got off to a poor start and didn’t really hit it close enough to give myself a bunch of looks, and that’s how you shoot over par.”
Scheffler, 30, shot 2-under Thursday in the opening round, notching four birdies and two bogeys for a 68.
Friday proved more challenging, with Scheffler posting four bogeys to two eagles to tally a 72.

He hit just 11 of 26 fairways and 23 of 36 greens, per ESPN.
Missing the cut also means Scheffler will finishes outside the top 25 at a PGA event since the 2024 BMW Championship, according to the outlet.
Scheffler has not won an event since The American Express in January heading into next weekend’s Open Championship, where he will be defending his title.
“It’s a little different now with some of the signature events not having cuts,” Scheffler said, per ESPN. “But, you know, I don’t think I finished outside of the top 20 or something like that many times this year.
“I’m definitely proud of the consistency and wish I had a couple days over the weekend to make up some ground. But overall, get down to Birkdale a little earlier than expected and get used to a new course.”
