Troubled cornerback Terrion Arnold has found his new NFL home.
Arnold, who is facing eight felony counts in connection with a February robbery and kidnapping, is signing a deal with the Seahawks, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Thursday.
Exact details of Arnold’s contract remain unclear, with the deal coming after the 23-year-old garnered interest from multiple teams — including the Giants and Jets — over the past few weeks.
Arnold, who was drafted by the Lions with the No. 24 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, was ultimately released by Detroit in June after he was arrested in Tampa, Fla., for his alleged involvement in the kidnapping.
He previously met with the Seahawks this past weekend and visited the Giants on Wednesday.
During a pre-trial hearing in July, Arnold’s agent, Nicole Lynn, said that the Jets were one of the teams interested in the cornerback.
Following Arnold’s signing, the NFL must now decide whether to place the cornerback on the Commissioner’s Exempt List as he faces the charges.
Arnold allegedly was the “primary conspirator” in the February kidnapping and is accused of beating three men whom prosecutors say he falsely suspected of robbing him and others of over $250,000 at an Airbnb in Lago, Fla.
He also claimed to have roughly $100,000 in cash, watches, jewelry, designer bags, shoes and a cell phone stolen from him, the Detroit Free Press reported.
The men who accused Arnold and his six alleged co-conspirators of robbing them allegedly had “visible injuries from being battered, held at gunpoint, and pistol-whipped before their personal property was stolen and they were ordered to leave,” according to Tampa police.
“All three victims were escorted out of the apartment by the armed suspects, forced into their vehicle, and the victims immediately left the scene,” police stated.
Despite turning himself in at Orient Road Jail on June 24, Arnold maintains his innocence.
“Terrion Arnold categorically denies any involvement in the matters underlying the allegations made against him and maintains his innocence,” Denise White, CEO of EAG Sports Management, said in a statement. “There is no credible evidence linking Mr. Arnold to these allegations.”
Through 24 career games in two NFL seasons, Arnold has one interception and 18 passes defensed.
