Maybe the Mets should hold off on writing Sean Manaea’s name into next season’s starting rotation.
That’s now two straight starts in which the left-hander was hit around.
After blowing a four-run lead in his previous outing, Manaea never gave the Mets a shot Thursday night against phenom Jacob Misiorowski and the MLB-best Brewers.
Manaea was touched for two runs in each of the first two frames and allowed his most earned runs — six — since late April, as the Brewers took the rubber game of the three-game set, 8-2 at Citi Field.
The flame-throwing Misiorowski and his triple-digit fastball didn’t allow a hit until the fifth, when Jared Young smoked a 2-0 cut fastball to plate Luis Robert Jr.
Three batters later, Christopher Morel drove home Young with a single.
The Mets’ momentum was short-lived.
Joey Ortiz led off the sixth with a triple and came around to score the Brewers’ sixth run against Manaea, who didn’t get out of the inning.
It marked his third straight start of allowing at least four earned runs, as his ERA rose to 4.55 — the highest it has been since late July.
Jackson Chourio gave Manaea fits. He led off the first inning with a single and scored on an Andrew Vaughn single. In the following frame, he blasted a first-pitch fastball over the wall in right-center field, making it a 4-0 game.

He also singled in the fifth and later scored, and added his second homer in the eighth off Xzavion Curry.
Misiorowski, meanwhile, was dominant outside of the blip in the fifth. He allowed just two hits, walked two and struck out six to improve to 14-5.
It was his 21st start this season of holding the opposition to two earned runs or fewer.
His ERA stands at a microscopic 1.73, the lowest in the entire sport.
After winning the series opener in dramatic fashion, the past two games of the series went as expected. The Mets did little offensively and the Brewers flexed their muscles, outscoring them 16-3.

Both games were over early. Milwaukee, in fact, scored more runs over the two wins than the Mets had hits (12).
