NFL teams already are jockeying for position less than an hour after John Harbaugh became the biggest free agent head coach on the market.
Harbaugh’s agent, Bryan Harlan, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Tuesday that he received calls from seven NFL teams expressing interest in the coach, seeming to hint that one unknown club might be in the market for a new head coach.
Outside of the Ravens, six teams — the Giants, Browns, Falcons, Cardinals, Titans and Raiders — are looking for new coaches.

Schefter also posted on X, “At least one – and likely more” in response to a comment that pointed out that his original report meant that a team that already has a head coach under contract had reached out about Harbaugh’s interest.
It’s unclear who the seventh team is that reached out to Harbaugh’s representative.
Harbaugh’s newfound unemployment likely changes the candidate lists for the teams currently looking to fill head coaching vacancies, which includes the Giants.
Schefter also reported that Harbaugh is expected to emerge as a favorite for the Big Blue job.
The longtime Ravens head coach spent 18 seasons in Charm City, where he had a 180-113 overall record, but went 8-9 in 2025, which ended in a tough 26-24 loss to the Steelers that prevented Baltimore from making the playoffs.
During his time leading the Ravens, Harbaugh helped them win a Super Bowl in 2013 and six division titles.
He won Coach of the Year in 2019.
“Throughout what I firmly believe is a Hall of Fame coaching career, John has delivered a Super Bowl championship to Baltimore and served as a steadfast pillar of humility and leadership,” Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti said in a statement. “He and his family have deeply embedded themselves in this community. For these profound contributions, on and off the field, we should all be forever grateful.”
