Snowplow driver allegedly confessed to snorting 3 ‘bumps of cocaine’ before crashing through garage on first day at new job

He plowed the wrong snow.

A snowplow driver allegedly told police he snorted three “bumps of cocaine” and blacked out moments before barreling across several properties in Connecticut — leaving behind a nearly 500-foot trail of destruction.

Mark Keene, 46, allegedly veered far off course during a routine snowplowing job in Fairfield, clipping a home’s porch before smashing through a stone wall and into a parked car that skids forward through a garage door, according to wild video footage obtained by News 12 Connecticut.

The crash took place on Dec. 28 — Keene’s first official day on the job with Bollinger Landscaping, the owner told the outlet.

Keene allegedly told police that he ingested three “bumps of cocaine” sometime after he “had a verbal argument with his girlfriend on the phone,” according to an arrest warrant obtained by the outlet.

The next thing Keene knew, he was “sitting in the plow truck in the driveway where Fairfield police found him,” the warrant said.

When police arrived, Keene was sitting in his truck and plainly stated he was just waiting for his coworkers to come help him shovel snow.

He said he wasn’t injured and claimed he “had no idea that he was just involved in a collision,” according to the warrant.

Keene submitted to a field sobriety test after police observed he “had slurred speech and pinpoint pupils in both eyes.”

But halfway through the test he suddenly “began to foam at the mouth and turn blue.”

Police administered Narcan and rushed Keene to a hospital.

On the way, he allegedly fought with first responders and had to be tied to a stretcher after he bit an officer’s hands and arms, according to the warrant.

Keene calmed down by the time police interviewed him at the hospital.

Toxicology tests revealed that Keene had cocaine, benzodiazepines and cannabinoids in his system, the warrant said.

In the whirlwind video, the driver of a black pickup truck with a snowplow hitched to the front zigzags across the front lawn of a home on Glen Ridge Road. While the truck was turning, the back end hit the porch’s fence and destroyed two slats.

Another angle shows the truck finally reaching an actual driveway — at a neighboring home, and only after toppling a stone wall separating the properties.

From there, the truck keeps on cutting through the yard until it reaches another neighbor’s house.

At some point, the truck is seen barreling down a plowed road. The truck careens down the street and slams into the back of a parked car, which was pushed forward through a closed garage door, according to the videos.

Photos taken in the aftermath of the accident showed the car the truck propelled into the garage smushed underneath another identical vehicle. The second car, which was parked in the garage overnight, was pressed up against the ceiling.

The crash left a 434-foot trail of destruction, the warrant said.

Keene turned himself in on Jan. 8 and posted a $15,000 bond. He was supposed to be in court Tuesday, Jan. 20, but his case was continued to Feb. 25.

He was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving.

Keene could not be reached for comment.
