In a bold power move that has RINOs scrambling and Democrats in full meltdown mode, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has issued an executive order forcing the General Assembly back into an extra legislative session to tackle the state budget and critically important congressional redistricting.
The session kicks off Friday, May 15, at 11:00 AM, just days after weak-kneed Senate Republicans blocked a clean extension and tried to kick the can down the road.
Governor McMaster posted the announcement directly on X late Thursday:
“I have issued an Executive Order calling the General Assembly back for an extra legislative session to address the state budget and congressional districts beginning Friday, May 15, at 11:00 AM.” — @henrymcmaster

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, five South Carolina Senate RINOs – Bennett, Campsen, Davis, Hembree, and Massey – voted against extending the session to allow redistricting, handing Democrats a temporary victory and defying massive pressure from President Donald Trump himself.
President Trump previously wrote on Truth Social:
The South Carolina State Senate has a big vote tomorrow on Redistricting. I’m watching closely, along with all Republicans across the Country who are counting on their Elected Leaders to use every Legal and Constitutional authority they have to stop the Radical Left Democrats from destroying our Country, including leveling the playing field against their decades of egregious Gerrymandering and Census Rigging. South Carolina Republicans: BE BOLD AND COURAGEOUS, just like the Republicans of the Great State of Tennessee were last week! Move the U.S. House Primaries to August, leave the rest on the same schedule. Everything will be fine. GET IT DONE!
Longtime Democrat Rep. James Clyburn’s safely gerrymandered 6th District – a majority-Black seat that has been held by the Biden kingmaker since 1992.
Republicans currently hold a commanding 6-1 edge in South Carolina’s congressional delegation. With the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent rulings gutting the left’s favorite Voting Rights Act loopholes on race-based districts (just like in Louisiana), the path is clear: redraw the maps, eliminate the racial gerrymander, and turn the Palmetto State into a 7-0 Republican powerhouse ahead of the 2026 midterms
