They both entered their games on Monday night having lost five straight. Both were struggling to score and receive consistent relief pitching.

It wasn’t how any Mets or Yankees fans expected the start to their seasons to go, the two teams coming off ugly sweeps.

But the Yankees (9-7) should feel much better than the Mets (7-10) for a few different reasons — on display Monday night as the Yankees prevailed in a 11-10 slugfest over the Angels in The Bronx and the Mets fell meekly to the Dodgers, 4-0.
