St. John’s was trailing by double figures and playing poorly.  

The odds of a win didn’t look good — if you haven’t been paying close attention to this program the past two seasons. 

In reality, the Johnnies had Georgetown right where they wanted them. No. 18 St. John’s has made a habit out of finding ways to win when it isn’t at its best.

Tuesday night was the latest example of this team’s mental toughness, turning a 12-point deficit into a three-point win to move within one victory of at least a share of the Big East regular-season title.
