The Giants had not trailed in either of their previous home games, a victory over the Cowboys (28-20) and a victory over the Titans (12-7). Playing from behind represents a different challenge. The Giants were hit with that challenge right away on Sunday, as the Cardinals took the opening kickoff and easily marched 58 yards for a touchdown. Then they did it again on their second series and the Giants were down 14-3.

They were down, again, when the Cardinals on their first possession of the second half took advantage of great field position (the Giants’ 37-yard line) via an interception thrown by Jameis Winston to pull ahead 24-19.

In another reminder that this season is not past seasons, the Giants under head coach John Harbaugh found a way. The final score of 36-24 includes Deonte Banks’ 98-yard interception return for a touchdown on the final play, inflating the final margin of what was a taut affair all afternoon.
