Carlos Mendoza has the right temperament and will be a very good manager assuming he survives this very Met downturn

He should keep his job because he has great potential and this start isn’t on him. The belief here is he also has strong support from his bosses (barring a deepening disaster). 


Speculation that the Padres are shopping Fernando Tatis Jr. should stop now. 

Tatis played 2B two games because he can. The Padres intend to contend, as usual.
