Top remaining Day 2 NFL free agents after initial frenzy

NFL free agency has opened and teams are spending money again like its going out of style.

The Panthers made the costliest move by agreeing to terms with pass rusher Jaelan Phillips for four years and $120 million, the 49ers made a splash with receiver Mike Evans, Miami moved on from Tua Tagovailoa and replaced him with Malik Willis — and then Tagovailoa decided to head to Atlanta.

The Giants made several moves, including signing tight end Isaiah Likely and retaining offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor, while the Jets focused on revamping an awful defense.

Most of the top free agents are now gone, but there are still some notable names remaining.

Here are the remaining free agents, based off The Post’s Ryan Dunleavy’s rankings.

1. Trey Hendrickson, EDGE, 31 (Initial ranking: 2)

Hendrickson, a star pass rusher, surprisingly did not find a new team on the first day.

The hold up is that he views himself in the same range as Danielle Hunter ($40 million) and Phillips ($30 million), according to Yahoo, and isn’t looking to settle yet.

There have been some rumblings about a Cowboys push.

2. Kyle Murray, QB, 28 (Initial ranking: 5)

There’s a caveat here that Murray cannot agree to terms with any teams until Wednesday when he is officially released by the Cardinals when the new league year opens.

The Vikings are the betting favorites to land him.

3. Rasheed Walker, LT, 26 (Initial ranking: 12)

As the top tackle on the market, Walker stands to cash in.

While Eluemunor only landed $39 million, the Packers standout may be looking to cash in at a larger amount due to his age.

4. Aaron Rodgers, QB, 42 (Initial ranking: 13)

Rodgers said last week on Pat McAfee’s show that he had not been offered a contract by the Steelers.

Pittsburgh just added Michael Pittman Jr. via a trade with the Colts and its top decision makers have made it known they would like to extend the partnership with Rodgers.

It’s fair to assume he’ll be in Pittsburgh should he postpone retirement.

5. Riq Woolen , CB, 26 (Initial ranking: 20)

The Seahawks could lose one of their cornerbacks following their Super bowl run, although Woolen lost his starting role.

He has not lived up to the standard he set in his rookie season when he earned a Pro Bowl berth after rallying six interceptions, collecting the same amount in his last 47 games combined.

6. Romeo Doubs, WR, 25 (Initial ranking: 27)

Doubs showed flashes with the Packers during his tenure, although he never had a standout season due to the team’s spread-it-out approach.

He tallied a career-high 724 receiving yards this past season to go along with six receiving scores.

7. Braden Smith, RT, 29 (Initial ranking: 28)

The Colt tackle comes with injury concerns, having missed 16 games over the past three seasons and playing in 11, 16, 10, 12 and 13 games over the last five seasons, respectively.

8. Stefon Diggs, WR, 32 (Initial ranking: 29)

The Patriots moved on from Diggs after one season despite a productive season.

There are off-the-field concerns, but he showed he’s still productive.

Kalshi projects several AFC teams as the favorites to land him.

9. Taylor Decker, OT, 32 (Initial ranking: 30)

The Lions moved on from their former first-round pick this offseason after he requested his release after the sides could not line up on an extension.

He’s older, but has started at least 14 games in each of the last four seasons.

Honorary addition: Elgton Jenkins, OL, 30

The Packers moved on from Jenkins following an injury-plagued season that limited him to nine games.

He’s made two Pro Bowl teams in his seven seasons in the league and could be a potential steal.
