Trump presser comes to quick end after girl faints in Oval Office

WASHINGTON — A question-and-answer session with President Trump in the Oval Office was brought to a rapid end Friday after a young girl fainted — causing White House aides to spring into action to shoo away reporters and photographers.

“Everybody out, please move,” a White House aide could be heard saying on the pooled video feed after a young relative of Dr. Mehmet Oz collapsed.

“No photos!” the aide instructed journalists.

Oz, 64, had just been sworn in as administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services before Trump began taking questions on several topics from the assembled press pool.

The girl was related to Dr. Mehmet Oz, who had just been sworn in as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services.

Trump had been speaking about ensuring that Iran cannot build a nuclear weapon — after scolding the press and Democrats for giving little attention to allegations of wife-beating and MS-13 gang affiliation against Kilmar Abrego Garcia, whom the administration deported to El Salvador last month, causing a furor among Democrats.

Trump walked over to check on the girl as the media were escorted away.

“A minor family member fainted during Dr. Oz’s swearing in ceremony in the Oval Office,” a White House official said in a brief statement. “We are happy to say she is OK.”
