The unhinged man who allegedly clocked an NYPD cop in the head while the officer tried to arrest him for an earlier stabbing was busted Friday morning, law enforcement sources said.

Sergio Santiago, 41, was picked up several hours after he allegedly chucked an unknown object at the cop’s head in the B and D train mezzanine of the Fordham Road subway station around 5:20 p.m. Thursday and ran off, authorities and sources said.

The blow left a cut on the officer’s head, and he was rushed in a department cruiser to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

He has one active warrant from Feb. 4 in connection to a violation in the transit system, the sources said.

While Santiago was still on the loose, the NYPD released two images of him – including a mugshot, and a surveillance image of the suspect looking disheveled with a thicker beard, longer hair and a bulky black coat while walking on the sidewalk.
