Disturbing video appears to show a doctor wiping blood from the hallway of a Colombian apartment where he’s accused of killing a model later found stuffed in a suitcase.
UK-born doctor Matthew Foster-Smith — a convicted stalker — is believed to be the man seen on all fours scrubbing the floor with a rag after Natalia Villalba, 36, was murdered inside her Bogota apartment, the Sun reported Friday.
Foster-Smith, 46, is believed to have fled Colombia on a fake British passport, leading to an Interpol red notice — before he was nabbed in Ecuador trying to catch a flight to the UK, according to authorities who have since charged him with aggravated femicide and concealing evidence.
Before his arrest, he brazenly called the Sun newspaper to claim he couldn’t be the killer because he was watching a World Cup game — one that was actually played a day before the model was slain.
The suspect, who was previously convicted for stalking an ex-lover and putting revenge porn online, is accused of bashing Villalba with a blunt object on June 18 after going to her seventh-floor apartment – then dismembering her body and stuffing it in a gray suitcase.
That afternoon, he was allegedly seen hurling garbage bags down a chute, with prosecutors claiming blood-soaked bedsheets were inside.
The newly emerged video appears to show him crawling across the floor and scrubbing it, inadvertently leaving cleaning marks behind. The suspect wiped several spots before getting rid of his rag in the garbage chute and catching an elevator.
The suitcase containing the body was left in a running shower in the model’s rental apartment.
“The fact the suitcase was left under a running shower accelerated the decomposition,” Ariel Cortes, the director of Colombia’s National Forensic Medicine Institute, said.
Villalba was found three days later by cleaners, but Foster-Smith, a former medic in southern England, had already left Colombia for Ecuador, allegedly on a fake passport, according to Colombian outlet RCN Noticias.
An Interpol red notice was out for his arrest but he called the Sun with an alibi, desperately trying to distance himself from the killing.
“I was watching England versus Croatia [in the World Cup] on a big screen in an Irish bar, so it wasn’t me,” he told the UK newspaper.
“After the match I went into the shopping center, I mooched about, bought an ice cream and came back later for the later games,” he said.
England faced Croatia in Dallas on June 17, a day before the model is believed to have been murdered.
Foster-Smith, who previously served an 18-month prison sentence in 2020, was arrested trying to catch a flight from Quito to the UK. He was charged in July and faces 50 years in prison if convicted.
