The Brazil men’s soccer team didn’t get off to the start it was hoping for at the 2026 World Cup, tying Morocco 1-1 in their opening match.
Then again, there’s no shame in recording a draw against Morocco, given that it is a top-10 team in the world. And so long as both of these teams take care of business in their other group-stage matches, they’ll both advance to the knockout round.
For Brazil, this next match is against Haiti on June 19, which is a contest the Brazilian side should absolutely win.
One would imagine that superstar striker Vinicius Junior will have a field day against the Haitian defense. The Real Madrid standout scored Brazil’s only goal against Morocco and would likely be in for a big day on Friday night.
Vinicius Junior hasn’t just been in headlines because of his performance on the pitch in recent weeks. He also was in the news because his relationship with Brazilian influencer, Virginia Fonseca, ended.
Fonseca (who has over 56 million followers on Instagram) announced that her and Vinicius’ relationship came to an end in an emotional Instagram post June 1.
While Fonseca isn’t with Brazil’s top scorer any longer, that isn’t going to stop her from supporting her home country.
This was made clear with a post she made to her Instagram on June 19, which showed her rocking Brazil-colored gear.
The post was captioned, “Já estou prontaaaa p hoje!!! VAIII BRASIL 🇧🇷 P CIMA DELESSSS💛💚💙”, which roughly translates in English to, “I’m all ready for today!!! GO BRAZIL 🇧🇷 GET ‘EM!!!”
Vinicius will surely take that advice from Fonseca to heart against Haiti.
