President Donald Trump meets with New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani at the White House on Friday, November 21.
Trump and Mamdani have had a contentious relationship already before the mayor-elect assumes office, with the president calling him a “communist” and Mamdani vowing to oppose Trump’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigrants in the sanctuary city.
However, Mamdani indicated he would call the president after his win to develop a relationship with Trump, which ended up turning into an in-person meeting in the Oval Office.
