Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem is testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee as the partial government shutdown targeting DHS hits week three, and Democrats fight to end deportations.
This comes amid heightened tensions following the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good, who joined a mob of violent leftists who have been clashing with federal agents repeatedly over the last year. It was only a matter of time until somebody died while attacking ICE agents, as happened with the two.
Good was shot and killed after attempting to run over an agent in her car, and Pretti, who had a history of violent encounters and spitting on ICE agents, engaged with federal agents while armed with a gun.
As Noem entered the hearing room, she was harassed by leftist protesters, saying, “You should resign,” You should be ashamed of yourself,” and “Stand with Immigrants.”
Angel families in attendance then confronted them. “You want to know who we are? We’re families who lost loved ones to illegal alien crime.”
“There’s no such thing as illegal immigrants,” one said, as another screamed, “We are families who have families detained in an inhumane system, oppressing them, violating the basic human rights.” Another said, “No one is illegal on stolen land.”

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem heads to Capitol Hill Tuesday to face lawmakers demanding she resign, be fired or impeached.
Her appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee comes as members of both parties criticize her handling of the Trump administration’s immigration operations throughout the country. Some Democrats have called for her to face impeachment.
Her testimony has been in the works for months. Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, had been seeking her appearance to conduct routine oversight of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
But it wasn’t until after the fatal shootings of Alex Pretti and Renee Nicole Good during immigration operations in Minneapolis that Noem agreed to testify.
Last month, President Donald Trump dismissed the idea of firing Noem.
