We’ve already got goosebumps.
For the seventh time in MLB history, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox are meeting in the playoffs.
This time around, the Bronx Bombers and BoSox will go toe-to-toe in the Wild Card round in a best-of-three series that determines who gets to take on the Tampa Bay Rays in the ALDS.
The trio of games will all take place at the Bronx’s Yankee Stadium. They’re slated go down:
Game 1
Tuesday, Sept. 29
8 p.m.
Payton Tolle (9-6, 3.03 ERA) vs. Cam Schlittler (14-6, 1.95 ERA)
Game 2
Wednesday, Sept. 30
8 p.m.
Sonny Gray (18-5, 2.72 ERA) vs. Max Fried (5-5, 2.80 ERA)
Game 3
Thursday, Oct. 1
8 p.m.
Ranger Suarez (8-5, 3.22 ERA) vs. Gerrit Cole (10-9, 3.61 ERA)
If you’d like to be there, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one games was $129 including fees on Vivid Seats.
Prices start at $131 and $135 including fees for the other two contests.
Over the course of the regular season, New York and Boston met 13 times; the Yankees took seven of those showdowns. In their final battle, the Yankees walloped the Sox 16-1 on Aug. 30. Heliot Ramos, Paul Goldschmidt, José Caballero and Austin Wells all homered for the Bombers that afternoon.
Both teams went 5-5 in their last ten games of the regular season.
As for this series, manager Aaron Boone left Aaron Judge off the Wild Card round roster but activated Giancarlo Stanton and Trent Grisham after both have been inactive for months and weeks at a time, respectively.
“[I’m] real confident if we play our game and pitch like we’re capable of, we got a chance to move on,” Boone said. “We got to play our best starting Tuesday.”
