The last two NFC champions are meeting in the first round of the postseason.

On Sunday, Jan. 11, Jalen Hurts’ reigning Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles square off against Brock Purdy’s San Francisco 49ers at Lincoln Financial Field.

This high-stakes Wild Card contest will be the first time the powerhouse franchises meet in the 2025-26 season.

If you’d like to be there, tickets are available for the game on primary and secondary-market ticketing sites like Ticketmaster, StubHub, Vivid Seats and GameTime.

After scouring the web, we found the cheapest tickets to get in the door for this 2022 NFC Championship rematch across all platforms was $214 including fees on Vivid Seats at the time of publication.

100-level tickets start at $374 including fees on GameTime.

Ahead of this showdown, Nick Sirianni’s Birds sat their starters and lost in week 18 against the 5-12 Washington Commanders, sealing their fate as the three-seed in the NFC.

As for Kyle Shanahan’s Niners, they couldn’t come through in the clutch against the red-hot Seahawks on Saturday, Jan. 3. A win would have handed them the division, No. 1-seed in the conference, home-field advantage and a bye in the first round.

Alas, that wasn’t meant to be.

Yet, the NFC West juggernaut — San Francisco has advanced to the playoffs in five of the last seven season — should not be counted out just yet.

Although the Bleacher Report’s Kris Knox predicts a 32-30 win for Philly, he noted “…there’s a chance Kyle Shanahan gets his offense rolling enough to steal a victory in Philly on Wild Card Weekend. While Seattle was able to hold San Francisco to a mere three points on Saturday, the 49ers’ offense has been flying high since its Week 14 bye..if the time off causes Philly’s offense to come out flat, I could see the 49ers running away with this one.”

We can’t wait to see how this marquee matchup shakes out.

About the Eagles vs. 49ers matchup

Due to the finicky nature of the NFL playoff bracket, No. 6 San Francisco has a better record at 12-5 than No. 3 Philadelphia’s 11-6 but is stuck with a road trip.

That shouldn’t be too much of an issue though. In 2025, the team went an impressive 7-2 away from Levi’s Stadium.

Their real issue is the demoralizing loss they suffered in week 18 to their NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks.

Kris Knox added “I worry about the physical toll Saturday’s game took on a team that has already lost so many key players to injury in 2025. San Francisco’s defense has had its fair share of issues down the stretch, which could be a massive problem against a fully healthy Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley.”

As spelled out by head coach Nick Sirianni, rest was a major priority for the Birds heading into this weekend.

“Being healthy and going into the playoffs healthy is a big deal for us,” he said.
