Everybody knows just how important the Nets’ current tank is to their future.

That means everybody could probably envision just how nervous — borderline panicked? — Nets general manager Sean Marks must have been last week when he thought two years’ worth of planning (and losing) were in danger of going awry.

Marks was on a video call last Thursday with the NBA’s other 29 general managers and league commissioner Adam Silver, who has been on a mission to tamp down and stamp out tanking. Or at least to punish those who partake.

Such as the Nets — and a solid third of the league.
