They wouldn’t trade these for the world.
Trader Joe’s is bringing back its popular miniature tote bags as a limited re-release — causing lines out the door of stores across the country, including here in New York.
Selling for $2.99 with red, blue, green and yellow trim, the bite-sized bags, which measure 13 x 11 x 6 inches, wound up re-selling online for hundreds the last time they were made available earlier this year.
The cutesy carriers are currently selling for as much as $146 for a set of 4 online, according to one amateur sleuth on X.
A company spokesperson told USA Today that the bags were rereleased on Wednesday and will remain “a limited product — rather than an everyday product at this time.”
At a Chelsea location of the cult-favorite grocery chain, a video posted to TikTok by user @emilyfrbyzq caught the line wrapping far around a city block before 8 a.m.
The scene at a San Francisco Trader Joe’s rivaled most Black Friday sales and a lengthy line was seen in Irvine, CA as well, according to videos posted on X.
And, it seems people are just happy to have a shot at canvas glory — despite the time in queue.
Social media site X was buzzing with news of the bags’ return.
“I hope I can get a tote bag,” one person posted during their outrageous wait. “Trader Joe’s please just make these mini tote bags a permanent thing.”
Another user posted a photo of the product still boxed up on a loading palette with the caption “Trader Joe’s mini tote bags are back and I’m scared for my safety.”
Other bystanders and shoppers — inadvertently wandering into the madness — didn’t quite seem to share the thrill as those on the lines either, based on numerous comments left on the site.
“These people out here for a damn Trader Joe’s bag are ridiculous! It’s a damn tote bag for gods sake!” wrote one.
“Walked into Trader Joe’s not knowing they’ve released a new tote bag literally today and saw a white woman war zone,” another user quipped.
