Wild moment homeless Santa Monica city council candidate storms stage in front of rivals

A former homeless woman running for Santa Monica City Council made a dramatic entrance at a recent debate — abruptly charging onto the stage and leaving her political rivals stunned.

Lindsay Davis, who goes by “Daisy,” was captured on video standing among the audience with a microphone before suddenly making her way up to the stage.

“An unconditional … to look out for each other,” she appears to say to an audience member before leaping onto the stage. Once there, Daisy launched into an unusual pitch to the crowd.

“And with a magical boop — Boop! Boop! Boop! Boop! — pretend that I booped everyone, I only get two and a half minutes,” she told the crowd.

The unexpected appearance appeared to catch the other candidates off guard, with several staring at her as she took over the debate.

“And I gotta be the DJ, I gotta be the dancer, I gotta be the politician — something I’ve never done. And I love the political mumbo jumbo, and I swear I will learn to speak it, I will do all of that,” she continued.

The clip has since circulated online, drawing attention to the unconventional candidate and her campaign for a seat on the Santa Monica City Council.

Another clip shows the woman removing her red top and stretching on stage as she attempts to get the audience and her fellow candidates to join her in a series of breathing and stretching exercises.

“I want you to take a deep breath. Inhale through your nose and breathe out through your mouth,” she said, holding her skateboard and jumping on stage.

“Santa Monica, go. You want me to pick one topic? I will give you one topic: Your breath,” she said from the stage.

Daisy describes herself on her campaign website as the “Venice Healer,” saying her work focuses on wellness, community, and what she calls social healing.

Her campaign materials also highlight her personal experience with homelessness, which she presents as a central part of her political background and motivation.

Before entering politics, Daisy became known in Venice for her involvement in the local homeless community and a controversial tiny-home project on the Venice Beach Boardwalk.

She was often seen walking undressed in the area.

In 2024, a tiny structure she built with the help of volunteers became the center of a dispute over homelessness and public space. The structure was eventually dismantled after a tense confrontation involving authorities and community members.

She has also posted material describing an early interest in politics on her website and alleged she meet with former President Ronald Reagan when she was young.
