They’re purr-fectly safe!
A trio of kittens helplessly trapped in an industrial shredder were rescued by quick-thinking maintenance workers on Long Island, heartwarming video shows.
The employees heard “screams” Thursday from the machinery, leading them to unscrew the contraption and find three black newborn kittens inside, animal rescuer John Debacker told The Post.
Once they made the adorable discovery, a thoughtful worker covered them with a towel and called Debacker, a Long Island “catman” known for daring rescues.
DeBacker, 33, a Bellmore resident, quickly arrived at the Oyster Bay maintenance yard.
Video posted on his Facebook shows the newborns purring inside the machinery while an employee dismantles it — moments before the kittens’ tiny heads are spotted.
Debacker then pulls them to safety.
“Workers at a maintenance yard heard screams coming from inside a shredder that would have completely obliterated them if the machine was turned on, but thankfully their quick thinking saved them,” Debacker wrote on Facebook.
Debacker said the kittens are currently with a bottle feeder and will eventually be put up for adoption.
“They’re doing good right now,” he added.
