A pair of Yankees fans crossed the line on Tuesday.
Mookie Betts tracked down Gleyber Torres’ long fly ball down the right-field line in the first inning of World Series Game 4 at Yankee Stadium, when one fan aggressively grabbed the Dodgers star’s glove in an attempt to rip the ball out, while another took ahold of Betts’ wrist.
Whatever they were hoping to gain from the head-scratching move backfired: the fans, one clad in an Aaron Judge jersey and the other in a Mariano Rivera No. 42 jersey, were escorted out of the stadium by Yankees security.
It didn’t help the Yankees, either, as Torres was ruled out by fan interference.
The Bombers, trailing 2-0 after Freddie Freeman’s record-setting two-run homer, have needed all the aid they can get offensively in the World Series, but this was the wrong kind.
It may have been deja vu for Torres, who had a similar experience in World Series opener at Dodger Stadium.

With two out in the top of the ninth inning of Game 1, Torres sent a ball to deep left that was snagged by an overeager fan who reached over the wall to make the catch.
The Yankees infielder was awarded a double while fans immediately brought Jeffrey Maier back into the mainstream, recalling the 12-year-old fan who stole a home run for Derek Jeter during the 1996 ALCS.
