Millions have watched the hit dramatization of Jesus’ ministry called The Chosen, but you might not be aware that the show has several glaring historical errors. Here are the eight most egregious:
-
There wasn’t vaguely Middle Eastern pop music playing in the background wherever Jesus went: This was completely made up by the studio.
-
You can’t walk between villages in Israel in 10 minutes like in the show: It would actually take several hours. Ridiculous.
-
The credits recognize a “Dolly Grip”, a job which didn’t exist back then: So obvious.
-
None of them had teeth that nice: Braces hadn’t been invented. Do better.
-
Jesus did not go by the name “Jonathan Roumie” when off-camera: Swing and a miss, guys.
-
There were actually no cameras in the first century, so a crew could not have been following them around videotaping them as in the show: Come on, people.
-
Jesus never wielded a lightsaber: We couldn’t believe The Chosen went there.
-
Peter is never shown wearing his pointy Pope hat: Just a blatant error.
Embarrassing stuff! Were there any errors that we missed?
