NEW YORK, NY — In yet another stunning but controversial prediction, host of CNBC’s Mad Money, Jim Cramer boldly declared that the Chicago White Sox are his insider pick to win the 2024 World Series.
Cramer, known for his surprising and unconventional takes and predictions, took to the airwaves to urge everyone watching to bet heavily on the White Sox, a team that — despite being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention on August 17, earlier than any team in modern baseball history — Cramer said was due to get hot in the postseason and shock the world by winning it all.
“I’m buying the White Sox this postseason, folks! Buy, buy, buy!” Cramer shouted at the camera. “The so-called ‘experts’ try to say they have no shot — mostly because they’re not even in the playoffs — but this is the time when you have to strike! You want to make history? Bet on the team that just set the record for most losses in a season to win the World Series! Booyah!”
While some analysts praised Cramer for his bold strategy and out-of-the-box thinking, others questioned his judgment. “Yeah, I’m not sure how the White Sox could possibly win the World Series,” said economist Hugh Porter. “Considering the fact that only teams that are actually in the playoffs will even have an opportunity to advance to the World Series, I’d say Jim’s prediction is highly suspect. But that’s pretty on-brand for Jim.”
At publishing time, Cramer had also declared that he was adamantly standing by his prediction that Joe Biden would win re-election in November.
