WORLD — The 2026 Winter Olympics marks the 25th time that the world has gathered together to watch a bunch of sports and also figure skating.
“I’m excited to watch all these cool winter sports,” said one fan. “And also figure skating, I guess.”
NBC, which owns the exclusive broadcasting rights for the Olympics, have made it convenient to watch only the events you care about through their Peacock streaming service. Users are able to jump straight into replays of snowboarding events or even curling by simply browsing the “Sports” category. Figure skating is listed under a different category identified as “Other.”
“Look at all these athletes and figure skaters here today,” NBC sports commentator Terry Gannon said, describing the Olympians assembled for the opening ceremonies. “I wonder if those figure skaters ever thought of trying a sport.”
At publishing time, U.S. figure skaters twirled in a circle better than the other countries, bringing home the gold medal for showmanship.
