A 14-year-old boy allegedly stabbed a much-older panhandler who begged him for cash on a Harlem subway platform during the Monday morning rush, cops and law enforcement sources said.
The 65-year-old victim asked the teen for money on the No. 2 train platform at 125th Street around 8:40 a.m., the sources said.
Instead of shelling out cash, the teen pulled out a knife and plunged it into the panhandler’s stomach, according to authorities and sources.
The wounded man was taken to Harlem Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, police said.
His youthful attacker was arrested at the scene by cops, who also recovered the knife, authorities said.
The teen was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.
The attack came less than an hour after a 39-year-old woman was slashed in the face on board an MTA bus in the Bronx, cops said.
The victim got into an argument with another woman who knifed her as the Bx4 bus passed Westchester and Rosedale avenues in Parkchester around 7:50 a.m., cops and sources said.
The attacker, who was last seen wearing all black, fled the scene on foot, police said.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition.
